Our Summer Internship Programme gives university students the opportunity to work alongside leading engineers, scientists and environmental consultants on projects that shape Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond. Each year, we welcome around 30 interns from a wide range of study backgrounds. We value diverse perspectives and believe innovation comes from bringing different disciplines and experiences together.

I am an international student, am I eligible to apply?

You’re eligible to apply for our Graduate Programme and Summer Internship roles if you’re legally entitled to work in New Zealand on a permanent basis. For more information about visa requirements and work eligibility, please visit the New Zealand Immigration website.

What are you looking for in interns?

We look for well-rounded students, not just strong grades. Alongside your academic results, we value work experience, internships, part time jobs, volunteering, sport, clubs and leadership activities. These experiences show your communication skills, teamwork and problem solving ability.

At what stage in my degree do I need to be to apply for a summer internship?

Most of our Summer Interns are in their second to last year of university when they join us. We also welcome applications from students who still have two or more years left in their degree. If you’re in your final year of study or you’ve already graduated, we encourage you to explore our Graduate Programme instead.
